About Us

Most all of my life I’ve been interested in photography.  It mostly consisted of snapshots of family and vacations.  It wasn’t until the early 80’s that I considered taking classes and upgrading to better equipment and lenses.  However, life and budget seem to constrain my ‘creative’ goals for the next 20 years.

Moving to Arizona was one of the best things that could have happened to me regarding photography as I love to photograph the awesome scenery it has and since moving here I found myself getting more interested in improving the quality of my hobby.  Another hobby, ATV riding in the mountains and desert enabled me to explore a lot of areas I had only heard about and I found myself wanting to try and capture the views in the camera more accurately.  My riding buddy, also an amateur photographer, and I developed some friendly competition and once again an upgrade of equipment was needed.

However, it wasn’t until 2007, when I spent 3 weeks in Kauai, Hawaii, that I found that my skill levels had really progressed to the point, that by the end of it, forming a business was seemed like a good idea.

Coming home, I put the word out that for the next two months I would photograph anything for free.  I needed to find out if my own idea of quality matched others and at the end of those two months, Mire Images was born.

All of the above got me present to how amazing it is to capture that ‘perfect moment’. The one you see when a deer lifts its head from feeding, a hawk launching itself from a tree top in search of food, your child or grandchild giggling in joy at some new discovery, your mother and father sharing some private moment.

What I saw is that so many of those moments aren’t captured because people are busy enjoying the experience of the event or occasion. In my own life, I saw I had a choice of trying to capture those moments on camera, or just enjoying them. It is almost impossible to do both as I, myself, experienced in my own life. Most of the family activities don’t show me in our own photographs. How many of your pictures aren’t you in?

The question I asked myself was, “What if I was the one taking those pictures for others?”

Since then, I have had requests for weddings, family photographs, pictures of grandkids, birthday parties, marketing head shots, book cover photo for the author and head shots. I have also started shooting the promotional design shots of custom home builders and artists.

My commitment to excellence has already, since then, started generating referrals from many different types of work. My stand is that you will look amazing and feel spectacular with what we create together.
